GLADYS LAMY
Gladys was born in Mauritius where she was a teacher before coming to England. She did various jobs before working in the Legal and Parliamentary department of the Greater London Council, then known as the GLC. For many years she worked in the legal field and became the first woman licensed conveyancer in 1987.
After retirement, she wanted to put something back in the community and worked as an advocate helping and guiding senior members of the community. It was at this time the thought of helping people who needed help in changing their way of life caught her interest and she began the course to qualify as a hypnotherapist.
Her diverse experience of life and working career has given her the capacity to deal with people from all walks of life and of every age group.
People warm to her mature, calm and friendly approach and she has an ability to support those who feel they are ready for a more fruitful and positive lifestyle.
She believes if a person is balanced and has empathy for others this not only benefit the person but society as a whole.
Her family call her the eternal student, because at the youthful age of 74 she is now an accredited hypnotherapist and a licentiate of the hypnotherapist society (LHS).
Gladys was asked by the diversity group of Westminster City Council to give an inspirational speech on 'How to release your potential'.
Quote from her speech:
'There are many ways to release your potential. My way is to have a vision and my formula is:-
WILL + DESIRE + MOTIVATION + HARD WORK = how I release my potential.
And I encourage you all to have a strategy towards the pathway that leads to your goal'
In her spare time, she writes poetry and many of her work has been published.
